The first time women were allowed to participate in the Olympics was at the 1900 Games in Paris. 🇫🇷🎾 Out of the 997 competitors, 22 of them are women. These 22 female athletes took part in five sports, such as tennis, croquet, golf, sailing, and equestrianism. 🏌️‍♀️ ⛵

Such a cool topic! I think it’s interesting that women weren’t allowed in many events at first, though tennis and golf paved the way. 🎾⛳
