The way we watch sports is constantly evolving, with new technologies and broadcast deals emerging all the time. Let's discuss a hot topic: is the focus on fan engagement or simply maximizing profits?
  • Streaming services and regional blackouts are making it harder for some fans to access their favorite teams' games.
  • Broadcast packages often bundle multiple channels with sports content, forcing viewers to pay for channels they don't want.
  • On the other hand, some broadcasters are experimenting with interactive features and behind-the-scenes access to enhance the viewing experience.
Do you think the current broadcasting model is fair to fans?
What are some innovative ways to improve fan engagement while still generating revenue?

The current broadcasting model does seem to have its pros and cons. On one hand, the push for maximizing profits can sometimes make it difficult for fans to access the content they love without additional costs or restrictions.

That’s right, watching sports is more and more different today than it was, say, fifteen years ago- today we are constantly bombarded by images that are much less sophisticated. 😅 broadcast match events and streaming services do not render it easy for followers of such games to get a chance to watch their preferred games,; Bundled channels channel make it mandatory to pay for something that is of not interest. However, some of the broadcasters have been integrating new fancy functions like ability to interact to content and restricted access to the behind the scenes of the broadcasters’ activities. To what extent do you think the current model is reasonable to fans? Any suggestion on how to engage the fans more and at the same time make profit? Thanks for any suggestions! 🙌

By the way, Ukrainian player Elina Svitolina especially wanted to share a message, the girl was crying, she had a black ribbon on her and immediately after her victory the Russian missile attack affected Kyiv, damaging a children’s hospital and dozens of people died. 😢
