The first product ever scanned with a barcode was a pack of chewing gum in 1974!
I had no idea a simple pack of gum marked the start of barcode scanning. It's amazing how such a small moment in history led to a huge technological advancement. Next time I scan something, I'll think of that little pack of gum!

Crazy to think that something as simple as a pack of gum kicked off the whole barcode revolution. Now we can’t buy anything without that little black-and-white pattern running the show!
