In 1945, Percy Spencer, an engineer working for Raytheon, was testing a magnetron, the power tube in radar systems. 👨‍🔬 While standing in front of the active magnetron, he noticed that a chocolate bar in his pocket had melted. 🍫🍫 This observation led him to experiment with popcorn kernels and an egg, which exploded. Following this discovery, he developed the first microwave oven. 😯
