On Aug. 16, the Philippine embassy in Lebanon encouraged Filipinos to evacuate Lebanon in the middle of increasing tensions in the region.
The embassy said that all Filipino citizens leave Lebanon as soon as possible while the airport remains operational. If unable to leave Lebanon, the embassy suggested Filipinos evacuate to safer areas outside of South Lebanon, Beirut, and the Bekaa Valley.
