Camels also have various mechanisms that they employ to enable them survive the harsh terrains of their habitat. They also possess a third clear eyecup used in shielding the eyes against blowing sand. Also, the two rows of long lashes would shield them from the eyes. 
I wonder if the third eyelid helps keep dust out too?
