Turkey Edges Austria 2-1 in Euro 2024 Round of 16

The Association football match—Euro 2024 round of 16 took place on Tuesday, July 2, where Turkey has beaten Austria 2-1. The match at Leipzig Stadium in Germany and started with Turkey at first when Merih Demiral scored from the center of the box at the first minute and then again in the 60th minute to make it two-nil. Austria was however able to get a consolation through Michael Gregoritsch. Austria that had qualified to the knockout stage as the winner of their group just pipped France and Turkey that qualified to the knockout stage as the runners up in their groups although they emerged better than Portugal on a better goals’ difference. Thus, earlier on Tuesday the Netherlands, who defeated Romania, will play the quarter finals with Turkey.
