Typhoon Gaemi caused severe devastation in southern China's Hunan province, leading to at least 30 deaths and 35 people missing across eight towns. The typhoon hit China on July 25 with strong winds and heavy rainfall, causing extensive flooding and damage to infrastructure. The rescue teams had managed to restore roads, electricity, and communications in the hardest-hit areas, and efforts continue. In response to the disaster, China has raised its emergency response level to support relief efforts and ensure the well-being of affected residents. The storm also caused significant flooding in Taiwan and worsened monsoon rains in the Philippines.
