Taiwan has closed offices, schools and flights as it readies for Typhoon Gaemi set to batter northeastern Taiwan by 10. 00 p. m. local time Wednesday. The storm that has been affecting the Philippines, wherein the minimum of twelve people died due to floods and landslides, increases concern in Taiwan, where more than 2,100 people are evacuated from such regions, for example, Hualien. The typhoon which has gusting more than 160 km/h (100 mph) has led to cancellation of domestic and international flights and the suspension of annual air force drills. From the Philippine government’s point of view, 600,000 people were made to flee their homes due to the effects of the typhoon and adverse weather.
