Super Typhoon Julian left the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) but threatened to re-enter on Wednesday only Signal No. 1 is in effect, but more Luzon areas are covered, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Tuesday. In its 5 p.m. advisory, Pagasa said that Julian was estimated to be 245 kilometers (km) west of Itbayat, Batanes, while moving north-northwestward slowly. It packed maximum sustained winds of 195 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 240 kph. Forecast to curve back toward the sea southwest of Taiwan until Wednesday morning, Julian will make landfall along the southwestern coast of Taiwan Wednesday afternoon. After its feared reentry on Wednesday, the super typhoon would eventually exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Thursday evening or early Friday morning, the weather bureau said.

It sounds like Super Typhoon Julian is a powerful storm, and even though it left the Philippine Area of Responsibility, its potential reentry is concerning. Hopefully, the impacted areas in Luzon and Taiwan are preparing for its possible landfall and taking necessary precautions. Stay safe!
