Far-right groups have spread false claims that the attacker was an illegal immigrant, though police confirmed the 17-year-old suspect, Axel Muganwa Rudakubana, was born in Cardiff. Protests erupted in cities like Liverpool, Manchester, and Belfast, with anti-immigrant demonstrators clashing with counter-protesters and police. The unrest has prompted increased police resources and security measures, with Prime Minister Keir Starmer pledging to address the rise in far-right violence and online disinformation.
