On September 7-8, 2024, Seattle hosted the Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship, where top duelists from around the globe competed fiercely. In the end, American player Ruben Penaranda emerged victorious with a deck featuring Yubel, a character from the GX series. Thanks to new support released earlier in the year, Yubel’s deck, once considered unreliable, was transformed into the most powerful strategy in the game. After over twenty years, a GX character has clinched the title of the world’s strongest duelist! 
Congrats to Ruben Penaranda for taking the Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship with a Yubel deck! 
Who would've thought a GX character would come out on top after all these years?
