Was there ever a “holy” version of prank culture in ancient religious texts?

I know this is an odd one, but I was reading a random passage the other night and it lowkey gave “divine prank” energy. Like… are there examples in any religious text where a prophet, angel, or deity played a kind of “gotcha” moment on someone? Not out of cruelty but more like a teaching moment wrapped in a little cosmic humor? Would love to know if I’m totally off or if anyone else has come across something like this.
