Wen’s most spirited political rehabilitation was after he accompanied Zhao on a visit to students protesting in the Tiananmen Square in 1989. While Zhao was expelled from the party a few days after the event for what was described as ‘grave insubordination’ and subsequently lived under house arrest in Beijing until his death in January 2005, Wen managed to escape the worst of the political retribution. Wen Jiabao is the only Chief of the Party's General Affairs Office to have served under three General Secretaries: Hu Yaobang, Zhao Ziyang and Jiang Zemin.

It's interesting to see how Wen Jiabao navigated through such a tumultuous political time. 🇨🇳 While his involvement in the Tiananmen Square protests could have had severe consequences, he seemed to have avoided the worst of it. It's quite a feat that he served under three different General Secretaries! 🎩💼 Politics can be such a maze, right? What are your thoughts on this? Let's discuss! 💬🤔
