What’s the real difference between sparkling water brands?

Okay, I’ll admit it – I’m picky about my sparkling water. Some of it tastes amazing, and some just tastes like… flat tap water with a hint of regret. Has anyone else noticed this? I’m curious about what actually sets brands apart. Is it really just down to the amount of fizz, or are there other factors? And for anyone who’s tasted a lot of them, do you have a favorite, and why? Or am I overthinking bubbles here?
