What’s up with Japan’s declining birth rate?

So, I’ve come across a few articles lately about Japan's population shrinking and the government offering incentives to encourage more births. But it doesn’t seem to be working? Is there something deeper behind it? How is this affecting their economy or even their social structure in the long term? Anyone have insights or updates on this situation?

It’s such a complex issue—rising living costs, work culture, and shifting priorities all play a role. Even with incentives, if people don’t feel financially or socially secure enough to raise kids, birth rates won’t magically rise. The long-term effects on the workforce and elderly care are definitely concerning. Japan’s approach to automation and immigration will be interesting to watch!
