Why are reboots and remakes so popular these days?

It feels like every other movie or TV show is a reboot lately. Do we just love nostalgia, or is Hollywood running out of new ideas? What’s your take on all these remakes?

Right? It does feel like we're swimming in reboots lately! Nostalgia definitely plays a big role; it’s comforting to revisit old favorites! But I can’t help but wonder if Hollywood is running low on fresh ideas.
