Why do random facts stick with us more than important stuff?

Like, I can recite obscure animal trivia, but don’t ask me what I had for lunch yesterday. Is our brain just wired weirdly, or am I alone in this?

You're definitely not alone! It's so fascinating how our brains latch onto random facts. I read somewhere that we’re more likely to remember things that trigger an emotional reaction or feel novel, while mundane stuff like what we ate doesn’t leave the same kind of impression. Maybe it's our brain’s way of staying entertained!

Haha, right? It's like our brain loves storing random facts, but when it comes to remembering what we had for lunch, it's like poof, gone! Gotta love how our minds work in mysterious ways. 🤔🐾
