Why do so many TV series start strong but lose their way by season 3? What’s the tipping point?

I’ve noticed a pattern where shows I love seem to peak in the first two seasons, but by the third, they either drag or go off the rails. Is it pressure from networks, writer burnout, or just bad luck? What’s the secret to keeping a series fresh beyond season 3?

It could be a mix of all those factors—pressure, burnout, or just running out of fresh ideas. Keeping a series engaging beyond season 3 often comes down to strong writing, evolving characters, and not stretching the plot too thin. A balance between new twists and staying true to the show's core is key!
