Why do some ancient religious texts emphasize silence over spoken prayer?

Hey all! 😊 I’ve been reading a bit about ancient religious practices, and something that stood out to me was how some traditions emphasize inner silence rather than spoken prayers. I get the whole meditative aspect, but I’m curious why silence was sometimes considered more “sacred” or powerful. Does anyone know if it’s tied to certain beliefs about the divine, or maybe cultural practices from that time? Would love to hear your thoughts!
