Why do some golfers switch to softer golf balls in colder weather?

I’ve heard a few players mention switching to softer golf balls when it’s cold out, and I’m wondering what the actual benefit is. Does it have to do with how the ball reacts in lower temps, or is it more about feel and control? Any golfers here who’ve tried this switch? I’m curious if it’s something that really makes a noticeable difference on the course or if it’s just a preference thing.

Switching to softer golf balls in cold weather is actually a smart move! 🏌️‍♂️❄️ Softer balls tend to perform better in lower temperatures because they stay flexible, which helps with distance and control. When it’s cold, harder balls can feel less forgiving, and you might lose some feel on your shots. Plus, softer balls can give you a better grip on the greens, helping with putting. Many golfers notice a difference, especially when it comes to feel and accuracy, so it might be worth trying if you play in colder weather! 🏌️‍♀️⛳
