Why do some sports have way fewer left-handed athletes than others?

So in baseball, lefties are everywhere—pitchers, hitters, the whole deal. But in sports like hockey or golf, they’re way less common. And in basketball, it’s like a superpower when a player is left-handed because defenders aren’t used to it. Is this just a numbers game, or is there some reason certain sports favor righties more? Would love to hear if anyone’s noticed other weird lefty-righty trends in different sports!
