Why do you think animated films aimed at adults, like Anomalisa or Loving Vincent, still don’t have as much mainstream success?

It seems like adult-targeted animation still struggles to break into the mainstream, even when the stories and visuals are top-tier. Do you think there’s something about animation that still feels ‘niche’ for adult audiences, or is it just a marketing issue?

It might be a mix of both. Animation for adults can feel niche due to lingering stereotypes about it being primarily for kids, and it often needs more targeted marketing to reach wider audiences.
