Why does my milk tea taste like wet cardboard sometimes?

Okay, so I’ve been making milk tea at home for a while, and I swear, sometimes it tastes amazing, but other times… it has this weird, almost wet cardboard aftertaste. I use the same tea leaves and the same milk, so what’s the deal? Is it the steeping time? The type of tea? My milk going rogue? Has anyone else experienced this, or am I just doomed to inconsistent milk tea forever? 😩

Oh, I’ve been there! 😩 It could totally be the steeping time—too long, and the tea can get bitter, messing with the flavor. The type of tea matters too; some black teas have a more astringent taste that might mix weirdly with milk. Also, check if your milk is super fresh, because even slightly off milk can create that funky aftertaste. You’re not doomed—just gotta tweak a few things and find that perfect balance! ☕✨
