Why does toothpaste make orange juice taste awful?

Ever brush your teeth and then drink orange juice right after? Yikes. That aftertaste is brutal! I looked it up, and apparently, it’s because of a compound called sodium lauryl sulfate in toothpaste. It messes with your taste buds, making sweet stuff taste super bitter. Anyone else hate that experience? Maybe there’s a toothpaste that doesn’t do that?

I totally relate! That bitter aftertaste is the worst. Some people suggest using toothpaste without sodium lauryl sulfate to avoid that reaction. Have you tried any alternatives?
