Why is the concept of Seva (selfless service) so central in Sikhism?

I’ve always heard about Seva being a huge part of Sikh life, but I’m curious as to why it holds such significance. Is it more about community, spirituality, or both? And do you feel that its meaning has evolved in modern Sikh practice?

Seva is a core Sikh value. It's about helping others without expecting anything in return. 🤝🙏
