‘Abused’ actor files complaint vs GMA consultants

MANILA, Philippines — GMA Network has received a formal complaint filed by Sparkle artist Sandro Muhlach, son of former child actor Niño Muhlach, against two GMA independent contractors over an alleged incident of abuse. “GMA Network has just received a formal complaint from Sparkle artist Sandro Muhlach against two GMA independent contractors, Jojo Nones and Richard Cruz,” the media network announced yesterday in a statement. “Recognizing the seriousness of the alleged incident, GMA Network had already initiated its own investigation even before receiving the formal complaint. Respecting Sandro’s request for confidentiality, the investigating body will withhold all details of the formal investigation until its conclusion,” it added. GMA also assured the public and its stakeholders of its commitment to conducting this investigation with the highest standards of fairness and impartiality. The statement was released amid a blind item circulating online about a newbie actor who was allegedly harassed by two “TV executives” during a major showbiz gala. Earlier, Niño posted a cryptic message on his Facebook account that read, “INUMPISAHAN NYO, TATAPUSIN KO! (You started this, I will end this!)” The post didn’t mention any specific incident.
