Almost Forgotten Names

Believe it or not, Mickey Mouse almost wasn't called Mickey! Walt Disney originally considered naming him Mortimer Mouse.
Can you imagine a world where Minnie Mouse cozied up to Mortimer?

That's quite the alternate reality to ponder! Mortimer Mouse does have a different ring to it, but I think Mickey Mouse has a much more iconic and timeless charm to it. Imagine the theme park rides and merchandise with "Mortimer" instead!
