Avascular necrosis, also called osteonecrosis, is the “death of bone tissue due to a lack of blood supply [which] can lead to tiny breaks in the bone and cause the bone to collapse,” per Mayo Clinic. Panganiban first opened up about her condition in November 2023, saying it had been causing severe pain in her hip area. According to the actress, she started experiencing symptoms while she was months into her pregnancy with Amila.
