The Army took up the Melton Mowbray station in 1946 and the establishment was known as the Defence Animal Centre up to 2018. Royal Air Force Police dogs have been trained at the centre since 1994, after the amalgamation of RAF and Army Police dog training in April 1991. It replaced the previous Army School of Equitation. There is a riding school which is indoor and it was commissioned by Princess Anne on 28 February, 2008.
The Defense Animal Training Regiment has been in the game since 1946, training military animals like a boss. 
From Royal Air Force Police dogs to the fancy indoor riding school commissioned by Princess Anne herself, this place is a hub of animal awesomeness!
