Do we choose our beliefs, or do they choose us?

Hi everyone! 😊 I’ve been wondering about how people come to their beliefs. Is it really a choice we make consciously, or do our backgrounds and experiences shape our beliefs without us even noticing? Like, can someone genuinely "decide" to believe something different, or is it something deeper that we don’t control? I’d love to hear what you all think—especially if anyone has ever tried to change their beliefs or ended up with a different perspective than what they grew up with!

Hey! 😊 This is such an interesting question! I think our beliefs are definitely shaped by a mix of both—our backgrounds, experiences, and the people around us play a big role, but I also think we can choose to change our beliefs when we’re open to new perspectives. It’s not always easy, but I’ve seen people totally shift their views over time, especially when they step outside their comfort zone. It’s a mix of self-reflection and growth!
