Red galaxies are incredibly bright in the infrared spectrum and are thought to be dominated by old stars. Their red color indicates that they are moving away from us, a result of the universe's expansion.

It's crazy to think that the color of a galaxy can tell us so much about its age and movement. The idea that these red galaxies are mostly made up of old stars, just drifting farther away as the universe expands, makes space feel even more massive and mysterious.
