I’m trying to figure out whether it’s actually worth following recommendations from individual writers instead of relying on big “best games” lists from major platforms. Have you found smaller, author-driven game lists to be useful, or do you usually stick to large websites?

I think curated lists work best when you understand the author’s preferences. That way, you know whether your tastes align or not. Even when I don’t fully agree, it still helps narrow down what I might want to try next.
