Drunk Driver Sentenced After Severe Hit-and-Run

A driver’s reckless choice to drive drunk led to a serious hit-and-run incident on Nicoll Highway. Mohamed Akhtar Yusoff Marican, 41, has been sentenced to over 8 months in jail and fined S$5,000. His impaired driving resulted in a cyclist being launched into the air and suffering critical injuries, including multiple fractures and a severe brain injury. Akhtar, who was so intoxicated he didn’t realize the collision, will also face a 7-year driving ban. This case highlights the severe consequences of drunk driving and its devastating effects on victims.

That is really unfortunate. Although justice has been served, it can't undo the damage that has been done. I bet the victim's family is so heartbroken right now. I hope the victim still recovers.
