Obon is a Japanese Buddhist tradition where people honor the spirits of their ancestors.
During Obon, families visit graves, clean tombstones, and make offerings of food and flowers to welcome the spirits back to their homes.
People would also perform, Bon Odori, traditional folk dances, in parks and temples.
Moreover, they would release floating lanterns on rivers to guide the spirits back to the afterlife.
