Good Movies Feel Lost in the Noise

Sometimes it feels like truly good movies have disappeared from view, not because they stopped being made, but because they get buried under constant noise, hype, and endless promotion.
The loudest releases are everywhere, while quieter and more thoughtful films barely get noticed. And often those are the ones that leave the strongest impression.
I’m much more interested in the kind of movie that stays with you than the one everyone talks about for a week and forgets.
So now I want to ask: what are some quiet but powerful films you’ve discovered recently?
The kind that didn’t get huge attention but really deserved it. And where did you find them?;)

Lately, I’ve been thinking that discovering films like that is so much easier when you have one convenient place to watch without all the extra hassle. For me, a great option for finding and streaming movies is https://goojara-official.co.za/.

The Fits, Minari, Saint Maud, Beasts of the Southern Wild, Banshees of Inisherin, and the 2022 German All Quiet on the Western Front are all worth your time. For finding films like these, some people use MovieBox for iOS to access a wider library of indie and foreign titles. MUBI is built exactly for this, Letterboxd is great for following people with similar taste, and A24's catalog is a reliable starting point.
