Have you ever had powdered milk or eggs?

Some of us were talking about this recently. In our poor times we did have powdered milk. It has a taste similar to milk just on the edge of being spoiled, like if you give it another day or two it will be totally spoiled. My mom use to mix a half gallon of powdered milk and mix it with a half gallon of whole milk to stretch the money. We never had powdered eggs. Have relatives who served in the Army and had powdered eggs. They said it depended on who was mixing and cooking the eggs. Some added too much water making it runny and some didn’t add enough water and didn’t mix it well causing some pockets of dry powder. They agreed when mixed and cooked right it was very similar to real scrambled eggs but never quiet right.

Powdered milk: watery, spoiled-tasting stretch; powdered eggs: hit or miss, depending on the cook. Real food wins! 🥛🍳
