Perhaps the best way to ask "how do I permanently delete an iCloud account? " is to first sign out of it on your iPhone or iPad and then to request the deletion from Apple's website. The first thing, if how to delete an iCloud account is exactly what you want, is that you should get signed out of it. To do that, open the Settings app, tap your name, scroll to the bottom, and tap "Sign Out". If you are asked, enter your Apple ID password, and if you want to keep a copy of any data on your device, choose it. Finally, tap on "Sign Out" a second time to confirm. This will remove the iCloud services such as Photos, Contacts, and Find My from the device. Now you can go to: appleid. apple. com and under Data & Privacy (or maybe somewhere else, I'm not sure since the interface changes), you will find an option to delete the account. Deleting an Apple ID and all the associated iCloud data is permanent.
