Japan put into orbit a new H3 rocket with an Advanced Land Observing Satellite-4 (Daichi-4) on Monday in a major achievement after last year’s failed launch. The H3 rocket No. 3 lifted off at 12:06:00 pm and was separated the first stage approximately 5 minutes after that, the satellite was separated at 16 minutes and reached 613 km in altitude. The satellite’s signal was received in Chile at 12:At 59 p. m. , and the functionality of its Sun Acquisition Mode was confirmed to be in the correct Operating Status. This makes it the second successful H3 rocket launch after the initial failure in March 2023 and the trial launch that was carried out in February although this one did not centre an actual satellite The plan to conduct six successful satellite launches using the H3 rocket in a year is part of the Japanese satellite-launch strategy in a bid to conquer the market.
