As VP Kamala Harris stands out as a Democratic candidate for the presidential race, Big Tech has endorsed her with stiff support in the form of endorsements or campaign funds from stalwarts like Sandberg, Hastings, and French Gates among others. Harris, being a homegrown woman from the Bay Area, though knows many of these leaders and it helps when they know that you, as a politician, understand their sector and particularly their future in the new economy. Although Harris has campaigned for technology responsibility regarding matters that concern cyberbullying, and privacy among others, she has interacted with leading tech professionals in defining affairs such as the safety of artificial intelligence. Her policy of cooperation with social activists, policymakers, and representatives of big business as well as her positive attitude towards teamwork has been well received in Northern California as opposed to how Biden’s team was received.
