Hey everyone! I’m heading to Kyiv next month and I’m a bit anxious about the safety situation. Is there a specific site or app I should use to track the air raid alert status in Kyiv? I don't want to be caught off guard if something happens.

Hey! Don't worry, it’s all pretty organized. I highly recommend checking out the VisitKyiv website - they have a solid breakdown of how it works. Basically, if you hear a siren, the city "pauses." Buses and trams stop, and shops or museums will close until the "all clear" is given.
The site says you should definitely download the Kyiv Digital or Air Alert apps. They send loud pings to your phone even if it’s on silent, so you'll always know the current air raid alert status in Kyiv. If an alert starts, just head to the nearest metro station - they stay open 24/7 as shelters. If you're stuck inside, remember the "two-wall rule" (stay in a hallway away from windows). Use the interactive map on the site to find the closest shelter to your hotel. Stay safe!
