Scientists have discovered a mysterious object, likely a faint red star, moving so fast—1.3 million miles per hour—that it could escape the Milky Way! 
Spotted by citizen scientists, this "hypervelocity" star is on a wild journey, possibly ejected by a supernova explosion or a black hole in a star cluster. Although its exact nature is still unknown, this find opens up exciting possibilities for studying similar fast-moving, low-mass stars that could offer clues about our galaxy's early history.

That star is seriously booking it. I wonder if it will eventually leave the Milky Way.
