New Zealand is collaborating with Australia, Japan, the Philippines, and the United States on a multilateral maritime cooperative activity (MMCA) in the West Philippine Sea. 🇳🇿 This is the first time New Zealand joined since the activity commenced. 🚢

According to the Armed Forces of the Philippines, the activities were intended to improve operational preparedness and teamwork skills. 🪖 They added that the joint naval drills took place on Sept. 28, inside the Philippines' exclusive economic zone (EEZ). 🌊

Wow, it’s exciting to see New Zealand joining the MMCA for the first time with such strong allies like Australia, Japan, the Philippines, and the U.S.! 🚢 Enhancing operational readiness in the West Philippine Sea is super important, and I appreciate how these drills strengthen collaboration and teamwork. 🌊
