Pakistan's First Mpox Case of 2024

Pakistan has reported its first mpox case this year, a 34-year-old man from a Gulf country. The WHO has issued a high alert over the new Clade 1b strain, which is more severe than previous ones. With over 14,000 cases and 524 deaths in DR Congo this year, the situation is critical. Mpox, formerly monkeypox, spreads through animal contact and close human interactions, causing serious symptoms like fever and skin lesions.

That's alarming. I hope health officials and civilians will act immediately to prevent further spread. We wouldn't want to see more cases and deaths.
