Both Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games host city are therefore pioneering in setting preparatory standards for sustainability and inclusion of persons with disabilities in international sports. Together with IOC, ISO, and OECD, Paris 2024 has improved the general International Standard ISO 20121, developed new OECD measures for impact, and focused on gender equality and active living. The new ISO 20121 addresses climate action, human rights and accessibility, and OECD guidelines will enable evaluating future hosts’ impacts of an event on social, economical and environmental aspects. Paris 2024 also started sports participation programs and reached the balance of the gender quotas in athletes. This edition of the Games has the goal of reducing its emissions by 50% with respect to previous editions and, therefore, leave a positive legacy in the communities of the territory where it takes place, which will be the model for other editions of the Games.
