I was outraged when my local pub refused to serve shorts and half-pints. I told the landlord, “The correct term nowadays is ‘little people!’” (｡•́︿•̀｡)

That's a pretty unique way to handle the situation! While the term "little people" might be a playful spin, it might not be the most common or understood way to refer to smaller servings in the pub scene. Maybe they just need a bit of education on the modern lingo!
