RFID Laundry Tag: Best Practices and Challenges in Industrial Use

Hello everyone.

I am researching RFID laundry tag technology used in hospitality and healthcare laundry management systems. Can anyone explain how these tags perform under repeated washing, drying, and chemical exposure conditions?

I am particularly interested in durability, read accuracy, and cost efficiency for large scale operations. Also, what RFID frequencies are most reliable for textile tracking in industrial laundry environments? Any insights on real world implementation challenges or vendor recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Specifically, I would like feedback from practitioners who have deployed RFID systems in commercial laundries regarding maintenance, tagging methods, and return on investment expectations please share thanks.

Good ones survive 200 plus wash cycles when encapsulated in polymer or silicone casing. UHF is the go to frequency for bulk industrial laundry due to longer read range. An RFID laundry tag placement matters a lot as thick seams and metal trolleys cause read errors. Tunnel readers at conveyor points work best. ROI typically hits within 18 to 24 months through reduced linen loss and faster sorting. Check out Datamars and Positek RFID for proven vendors in this space.
