SB19, Bini to receive 'Voices of Asia' award, to perform at 2024 'Billboard K Power 100'

MANILA, Philippines — Two of the Philippines' biggest P-pop sensations, SB19 and Bini, are set to make waves in Korea this month. The "Kings of P-pop" and the "Nation's Girl Group" have been officially selected by Billboard Philippines to receive the "Voices of Asia" award at the launch of Billboard Korea's inaugural event, the "Billboard K Power 100," in Seoul. According to Billboard Philippines, this award "recognizes and celebrates their respective contributions to the Filipino music industry and their continuous efforts to spotlight P-pop on a global scale." Beyond receiving this distinguished award, SB19 and Bini will also grace the stage with electrifying performances. SB19 will perform their hit single "Gento" while Bini will captivate the audience with their latest chart-topping hit, "Cherry On Top." The "Billboard K Power 100" is said to be an event that aims to "highlight the influence of Korean music, particularly K-pop, on the global music industry" and will "further solidify the global status of Korean music in line with the launch of Billboard Korea." A Korean iteration of the "Billboard Power 100," "Billboard K Power 100" will center on "the Korean and Asian music industries, selecting influential figures from the region to celebrate their accomplishments." The highly-anticipated event is set on August 27 at the Yeong Bin Gwan Hall of The Shilla Seoul.
Meanwhile, SB19 has achieved another remarkable milestone with its recent victory in Billboard's Fan Army Face-Off 2024. The P-pop boy group's devoted fanbase, known as A'TIN, played a crucial role in securing the win for the second consecutive year. After weeks of intense voting and multiple elimination rounds, SB19 emerged victorious in the annual fandom competition. In the final round, A'Tin secured 56.3 percent of the votes, outpacing Rihanna's Navy, which garnered 43.7 percent. With the victory, SB19 now shares the honor of being the only other group besides Super Junior to win the Fan Army Face-Off twice. Expressing its gratitude, SB19 took to social media, saying, "A'Tin, we did it again! For the second year in a row, we've claimed victory in Billboard's Fan Army Face-Off 2024!" It added, "Your support proves that P-pop is more than just a genre — it's a movement. For P-pop. For the country." SB19 has been influential in the P-Pop movement, helping to elevate the genre on a global stage. Featuring Pablo, Josh, Stell, Ken, and Justin, widespread recognition both in the Philippines and internationally with their songs "Gento," "Mapa," Moonlight," "Bazinga," and "Crimzone," among others. Bini consists of eight members Aiah, Colet, Maloi, Gwen, Stacey, Mikha, Jhoanna, and Sheena. They are known for their songs "Pantropiko," "Salamin, Salamin," "Karera," "Lagi," and Huwag Muna Tayong Umuwi."​
