Sha’Carri Richardson qualified for her first Olympic Games by winning the 100-meter final at the Olympic trials in Eugene, Oregon, with a time of 10.71 seconds, the fastest in the world this year. Despite a stumble and untied shoe in the preliminaries, Richardson advanced and secured her spot for the 2024 Paris Olympics. Her training partner Melissa Jefferson and Twanisha Terry also qualified. Richardson, who missed the Tokyo Olympics due to a THC-related ban, had a historic 2023 season, winning the 100 meters at the World Athletics Championship and earning gold in the 4x100 relay.
