The victory in Solheim Cup was achieved in a close match of 15 ½ - 12 ½ of United States over Europe at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club ending their seven year losing streak. Stanford’s Lilia Vu rose to the occasion to produce the half-point with birdie on 18th after being 2 down with two holes to play. Europe tried to make a comeback in the singles and specifically Charley Hull fared well but by the end of the day Team USA maintained the lead. The first day set the bar high with the Americans winning 6-2 with splendid performances from Nelly Korda, Megan Khang, Rose Zhang among others.
An incredible performance by Team USA to finally break the seven-year streak! Lilia Vu’s clutch birdie on the 18th showed some real grit, and the overall team effort was top-notch. Charley Hull and Europe put up a strong fight, especially in the singles, but the foundation laid by Nelly Korda, Megan Khang, and Rose Zhang on day one made all the difference. What a thrilling Solheim Cup! #TeamUSA #SolheimCup
